Imam – a person (of any sex or gender) who took has a qualification in Islamic studies and has taken up a spiritual role in serving their community such as a person who is leading at a Mosque or in an Islamic institution.
Scholar – a person (of any sex or gender) who has a good command over the Classical Arabic language, holds a PhD or MA level education in any area of Islamic studies and has produced literature in this field.
The CCI Network and all its members, hereinafter referred to as ‘the Network’ is committed to providing a confidential service to its members. No information given to the Network will be shared with any other organization or individual without the member’s expressed permission.
For this policy, confidentiality relates to the transmission of personal, sensitive or identifiable information about individuals or organizations (confidential information), which comes into the possession of the Network through its work.
The Network holds personal data about its staff, members and stakeholders which will only be used for the purposes for which it was gathered and will not be disclosed to anyone outside of the Network without prior permission.
All personal data will be dealt with sensitively and in the strictest confidence internally and externally. While it is our responsibility to protect your confidentiality, we cannot take responsibility for any other member who has breached confidentiality. The information your share with others is your prerogative. It is also your responsibility to inform us as soon as possible of any loopholes or malfunctioning in our system or any malicious behaviour that can jeopardize your confidentiality so that we can address it as a matter of urgency.
All personal paper-based and electronic data gets stored following the Data Protection Act 1998 and is secured against unauthorized access, accidental disclosure, loss or destruction. Your data is only accessible to those individuals authorized to have access.
The Network is committed to the effective statistical recording of the use of its services to monitor usage and performance. All statistical records given to third parties, such as to support funding applications or monitoring reports for the local authority are produced in an anonymous form, so individuals cannot be recognized.
All records are kept in secure online databases only accessible to authorized individuals. Information that is stored in electronic databases is password protected and where possible encrypted.
The Network recognizes that occasions may arise where the Network staff need to breach confidentiality. Confidential or sensitive information relating to an individual may be divulged where there is a risk of danger to the individual, a volunteer or employee, or the public at large, or where it is against the law to withhold it. In these circumstances, information may be divulged to external agencies e.g. police or social services on a need to know basis.
As a member of the network, you are responsible for due diligence in the matter of protecting your confidentiality and that of other members. You are under no circumstances allowed to share information about other members without their permission. Your discretion is required in terms of posting material that is sensitive, unethical, profane, vein and obscene. Nudity is not permitted on this site and will be strictly monitored. This site does encourage meaningful relationships and partnerships, but its sole agenda is not such. Therefore the members commit to using this site for its intended purpose.
Any member who willfully and after repeated warnings, does not comply with this confidentiality policy and the values of this network, will have their membership revoked.
The Network will monitor this policy to ensure it meets statutory and legal requirements including the Data Protection Act, Children’s Act, Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and Prevention of Terrorism Act. Training on the policy will include these aspects.
